Responsibilities: 
 
  • Provide a technical support to Asian customers (BLDC as main priority but also for AFIC/ARPA/AGS); increase reactivity and local presence towards Asian customers, smooth SOPs, clear specs for SW pulled from customers, good interface between customers and BU, ease communication between customers and BU
  • Support SBZ China team for all the electronic and SW related topics, increase customers’ satisfaction 
  • Solve (urgent) quality issues directly at the customer (frequent and sometimes long business trip to be expected) 
  • Provide service engineering to customers when they need to design their systems with our products, convince customers to trust SBZ for new business 
  • Learn and get used to SBZ customers’ base for business development, support sales and application managers for sales activities when they have a lack of capacity 
Job Requirements: 
 
  • Bachelor degree or above in electronic or automotive engineering 
  • 3 – 5 years’ related experience in the automotive industry; has worked for or in contact with ECU makers, ideally within an European or American company
  • Knowledgeable of electronics (smart electronics/SW development/LIN/CAN), electromagnetism; knows the interface between ECU and smart electronics tools
  • Basics in mechanism; project management
  • C programming would be a plus 
  • Be able to travel internationally and domestically 
  • Good command of English in written and spoken

Job Title: Sales Application Engineer

Report to: Applications Engineering Manager

Location: Shanghai

Job Purpose:

The Shanghai-based Application Engineer is a technical, customer-facing position supporting
market development, customer and business partner training, and business pursuit activities
in the Asia/Pacific region.  This role requires customer focus, a thorough understanding of
the product, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a high level of
interpersonal skills combined with technical proficiency. The individual will be based in our
Shanghai office.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Work with the sales organization to prioritize a large number of opportunities and provide technical support to those jointly determined to be the most important
  •  Understand customer applications and work with the customer to determine or define the appropriate Maxwell product to meet his/her needs

Ensure that the customer’s requirements will be satisfied in the following areas:

  • Safety
  • Energy/Power
  • Lifetime
  • Mounting and Environmental
  • System Integration
  • Provide feedback to Sales, Marketing, and Engineering on customer needs for new products or product derivatives
  • Write White Papers and Application Notes for internal and external audiences
  • Create training materials on Maxwell products and technologies

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience

  •  Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electrical Engineering, with 5 - 10 years of product development or application engineering experience. A Mechanical Engineering background is acceptable if the candidate has sufficient background in electrical and electronic systems
  • Product design experience in a high-volume industry such as automotive, trucking, or industrial equipment would be preferred

 
Knowledge

  • Understanding of electrical/electronic systems and their integration into physical systems
  • Understanding of basic Mechanical Engineering principles as applied to the installation of electrical/electronic systems (thermal management, vibration, etc.)
  • Basic familiarity with system simulation programs and techniques (Spice, Matlab/Simulink, and/or Simplorer)

 
Skills

  •  Excellent communication and customer relationship skills. Fluency in English is a necessity
  •  Technical problem-solving skills to solve a variety of technical problems using engineering fundamentals

 
Abilities

  • Good interpersonal skills to facilitate successful customer relationships
  • Ability to communicate well in both written and oral settings
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multiple priority environment
