Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

The Common Reporting Standard is a new standard for the exchange of client information between banks in many jurisdictions around the world (including China and Hong Kong) and their respective tax authorities, which is complimented by tighter collaboration between tax jurisdictions worldwide (automatic exchange of information).

On Thursday May 25th, in association with BenCham, we are inviting you to a morning session at the Luxembourg Consulate. During this event, our experts will update you on the background, status and practical impact of the Common Reporting Standard. It could be relevant to any China tax resident who has overseas income or for anyone who employs such a person or wishes to understand these rules better.

Zach Lichtblau, Partner of Bonnard Lawson International Law Firm will first introduce this new standard and the potential implication for residents within CRS-jurisdictions with overseas bank accounts. Afterwards, Mr. YU Weili, Chinese CPA & CTA of Orient Best, will discuss the rules which are applicable for the taxation of offshore profits for Chinese residents and how these may change due to expected reforms in China’s Individual Income Tax law.

Best Regards,

Your SwissCham Team
